Our Mission & Vision |
|
|
We stand for fiscally responsible government at all levels. We will support anyone and anything that reduces the size of government and thus reduces taxes. We believe that 12 School Districts and 24 Municipal governments in a County of 195,000 residents are just too many. Because the large Special Interest Groups govern Albany more effectively than our elected officials we feel our best chance to lower taxes and save Broome County is by attacking issues locally that WE control. A group of Johnson City residents have succeeded in forcing the Village of Johnson City to address the possibility of dissolving itself into the Town of Union. A committee has been formed and is currently studying the many aspects of this as a reality. The residents of Johnson City will be voting on this question in November. Citizens for a Better Broome fully support the efforts to consolidate Johnson City into the Town of Union. In keeping with our mission of supporting town and municipal consolidation on a county wide basis, we see this as an important and symbolic first step in that larger goal. We stand at the ready to assist these courageous citizens in any way they might need and we encourage you to do the same. Our Goals & Strategies are simple. We have 1 primary Goal that will be achieved by two key strategies. |
