Our Goal

To achieve a Double Digit Tax Reduction for ALL Broome County residents over the next 5 years.

Strategies

1. To Consolidate Broome County School Districts into a single Countywide Administration. (That doesn't mean closing schools, knocking down buildings, firing teachers or busing kids all over the county.) There are Millions of Dollars to be saved by eliminating 12 Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents and related staffs.

2. To Consolidate all 24 Municipalities into single Countywide government. Again, there are Millions to be saved by consolidating these Municipalities. Johnson City dissolutionment alone is projected to save $2-4 million. This is a municipality that just borrowed money to make payroll.

Our ultimate goal is Lower Taxes for Broome County Residents. If there are other ways to achieve this, we are interested in hearing them. We will support any reasonable plan that will cut spending and reduce taxes. Consolidation has been beaten to death over the last few years. If there are more effective ways to save Broome County we want to hear them.

GET INVOLVED! 

We stand for fiscally responsible government at all levels. We will support people and programs that reduce the size of government and thus reduce taxes. We believe that 12 School Districts and 24 Municipal governments in a County of 195,000 residents are just too many. Because the large Special Interest Groups govern Albany more effectively than our elected officials do, we feel our best chance to lower taxes and save Broome County is by attacking issues locally that WE control.
